A Biblical Timeline Offers A Graphic Mode To Aid And Help Teach Biblical Characters And Events And Principles

In our Bible study years ago, a friend who had been a Christian and been involved in the local Church for many years, asserted that,"Yes, but Abraham had the Law and so he understood about......" (they were not talking about the pre-Moses law) I wonder how many Christians will really pick up the error in this assertion. Moses existed five hundred years after Abraham and so it is impossible. I have since then put together a Biblical chronological banner and shown visually the time period of men and women and occasions.

Why do we get stuck in a rut of our favorite subjects and sugar coated preaching?
We instruct on a verse from Micah and a narrative about Nehemiah and a theme from the book of Ruth and then the faith of Gideon or the strength of Samson - bits from here and there, but we do not put it all together in an evident understandable, simple to remember, perspective with a capable Bible TimeLine including Church History as well. Constantly we are bombarded with new books, modernist ideas, a few of them dangerously leaning toward Liberal theology, but if we could be instructed the basics of Church history, we then wouldn't be so bound to repeat it.
Let's us as instructors and preachers sew together the aspects of God's Word and His plan into a logical whole that our people are able to draw on for the remainder of their lives, to help them to figure out God, His Eternal Plan, the role of the Church and how to better interpret the Bible to order our lives by.
It's not hard to do, and it is not boring if we are prepared to put in a bit of effort prayer and fervor, and just possibly you can use a Bible Timeline as well.
